Volcanic ash is only found at the top of a volcano.

Rafiki, The Scorpion's Sting

Volcanic Ash is a type of dust which is used in healing remedies.

Information[]

As the name suggests, volcanic ash can be found in the Outlands Volcano. It is used to heal animals from scorpion stings. However, unless it is obtained before a short time span (possibly within twelve hours), the ash will not be able to pull out the poison in time.

History[]

The Scorpion's Sting[]

Scar sends out a scorpion named Sumu to sting Simba during an annual celebration. He is aware that this will lure the Lion Guard to him since they will be after the volcanic ash to cure the king.

Sure enough, Rafiki remembers the best remedy. He asks the Lion Guard to escort Makini, who will carry a gourd in which to hold the ash. And he warns them that they have until sunset for the ash to be effective.

Makini and the Lion Guard make it past Kiburi's float, Reirei's pack and Janja's clan, entering the volcano. Here, Makini quickly pours the ash into her gourd, and pops the lid back on for safety, attaching the gourd to her newest Bakora staff. Before they leave, Scar finally reveals himself to the Guard, revealing that he was behind the attack and that he knew they would come for the antidote. Despite calling in the Army of Scar, Kion's Roar of the Elders ensures a safe exit.

As a last resort, Scar orders Mzingo's parliament to get the ash, and the vultures swiftly dive towards Makini and peck at the vine holding the gourd in place. They succeed in knocking her staff into the lava, but Makini, with Ono's help, is able to retrieve the gourd from the staff before the lava consumes it entirely.

After Kion uses his Roar to completely remove the vultures from their path, he hastily returns to the team. With the sun setting and time running out, Bunga offers to take the ash back with him while riding on Fuli. When they reach Pride Rock, Bunga loses his grip on the gourd, but Rafiki successfully grabs it with the use of his opposable thumbs.

When Makini, Kion, Ono, and Beshte return, they are relieved to hear that their mission was a success and that Simba will be fine after some rest.
