Tupp has roti brown fur on his body, wild rice tan fur on his lower face, golden glow tan around his dark brown eyes, cinnamon colored eyebrows and brown markings on the top of his head and the tip of his tail. Like other jerboas, his legs are long and bald. Like his species the desert mouse, he lives in the sand.
At first, Tupp appears to be grumpy and prefers solitude. This is, however, a result of waking up during the heat of the day. When the desert cools down in the night, Tupp is very kind and friendly, for he is willing to help the Lion Guard in finding their way.
The Lion Guard encounters Tupp in the desert after they make too much commotion using the booming sand dunes. Tupp is furious that he has been woken up during the day, but after he kicks sand at Kion, he backs down and leaves when the cub growls towards him.
That night, Tupp encounters them again, where Kion apologizes. Tupp does the same and offers them some water from a nearby plant. He explains that, in the desert, animals use the stars to guide their paths, which is when the Guard realizes that the next moja kwa moja stone has a clue that's in the sky.
