Sarabi is the mate of Mufasa, the mother of Simba, Nala's mother in law, Kiara and Kion's paternal grandmother, and Scar's sister-in-law. She is the former Queen of the Pride Lands.
Appearance[]
Judging from her painting, Sarabi is lean and has pale colored fur. She has a bright fur on her belly muzzle and toenails. Her eyes are brown-colored. The inside of her ears are pink.
History[]
Prior to The Lion Guard[]
Sarabi was married to Mufasa and was Queen of the Pride Lands.
One morning, she gave birth to their son Simba, who was next in line for the throne. When she was informed by Scar of Mufasa and Simba's deaths in a wildebeest stampede months later, she was devastated as Scar took the throne and allowed the hyenas to take over the Pride Lands.
During Scar's reign, Sarabi had remained loyal to Mufasa and Simba, refusing to tolerate Scar's cruel leadership over the kingdom. When Simba revealed himself to be alive and returned to take back the Pride Lands from Scar's tyranny, Sarabi fought alongside her son, winning the battle in the process and watching the young lion become King.
Not long afterward, Nala became Simba's mate, and took Sarabi's place as the Queen of the Pride Lands. She later became the grandmother of Simba and Nala's cubs, Kiara and Kion.
Cave of Secrets[]
Sarabi's only appearance on the show is in the episode Cave of Secrets as during the song, Wisdom on the Walls she is seen as a painting alongside Mufasa during Simba's presentation.

Trivia[]
- A lioness bearing a similarity to Sarabi can be seen in "The Ukumbusho Tradition". However, there has been no proof that this is really her. Likewise, there is no definitive proof that it is not her.
- Sarabi did not appear in any sequels due to the death of her voice actress, Madge Sinclair. This tradition was upheld in The Lion Guard until The Lion King (2019).[1]
