The official residence of the monarch is Pride Rock, where the king or queen lives with his or her pride, as well as his or her family.

• Guarding clearings of thistles and thorns
• Presiding over aardvark wedding rites

Mufasa is the father of Simba, and the older brother of Scar. He was overthrown and killed by his younger brother Scar, ending his reign as King.
