Meeting Zira is where Kion helps Jasiri get her Watering Hole back.

Prior to The Lion Guard[]

Before Kion or any of his friends were born, Simba banishes Zira and her family to the Outlands. After Zira tried to attack Simba, Simba won the battle and Zira's Family were no longer welcomed into the Pride Lands.

Lions of the Outlands[]

Kion and Bunga are in the Pride Lands playing Baobab Ball when some impalas come running syaing that there's a hyena in the Pride Lands. Bunga gets ready to fight but it turns out that it's just their friend Jasiri. Jasiri asks Kion for help and says that a group of lions took over her Watering Hole. Kion and Bunga are confused why the lions are in the Outlands. Kion goes with Jasiri to help her and he meets Jasiri's Clan. They soon meet Zira's sons Nuka and Kovu. Kion wonders why they're in the Outlands saying that Simba would welcome them into the Pride Lands. Kovu gets excited saying that he can see Kiara again. Kion questions how he knows his sister and Kovu says they met a while ago. Nuka and Kovu takes Kion and Jasiri to meet Zira. At Jasiri's Watering Hole, Zira meets Kion and she introduces her

daughter Vitani. Zira asks why Kion is here and Jasiri says that she's friend with Kion who's also the leader of the Lion Guard. Zira looks around for the guard and wonders where they are. Kion says that he's the only here and asks why Zira took over the Watering Hole. Zira tells Kion why he doesn't use the Roar of the Elders to get the water he needs. Everyone questions Zira and Zira points out a little dark cloud. Kion uses the Roar at the cloud and rain comes down. Kion is in shocked and asks Zira how she knew the Roar would do that. Zira says that she'll tell him all about the Roar but Jasiri doesn't trust her. Kion says that maybe he

can convince Zira to share the Watering Hole and goes to speak with her. After hearing Zira's side Kion thinks that they have different opinions on how lions should act. Zira shows Kion her Den and leads him into a trap. Zira asks Kion what side he's on lions or hyenas and Kion says he's on the Circle of Life and those who respect it. Hearing that answer makes Zira upset and she gets her lioness to surround Kion. Kion knew that Jasiri was right not to trust her. Zira tells Kion that she used to knew someone else with the Roar a lion named Scar. Kion tells Zira that Scar was never the true king and Zira tells her lions to attack. Zira, then says she's going to get her children so they can hear Kion's final answer. Zira comes back with her lions and Kovu wonders why the Outsiders and Simba's Pride can't be friends. Zira tells Kovu that Kion siding with hyenas instead of lions. Zira soon tells her lions to attack Kion until Ono spots him. Kion's Lion Guard team and Jasiri come to save Kion and Zira is surprised to see them not all lions. Kion uses the Roar of the Elders on Zira's Lions and they all blast away. Except for Kovu who follows his mom. Zira's Outsiders land in the Termite Mounds which Zira says is their new home.
