Simba, The Kupatana Celebration

Kupatana is an event held in Mizimu Grove.

Information[]

Kupatana is a time of celebration in the Pride Lands where every animal gathers in peace at Mizimu Grove together to watch the baobab flowers blossom and fall, knowing and respecting one another's place in the Circle of Life. It is a day for celebrating the Pride Landers' community and each other.

The chorus sings

The Kupatana Celebration begins smoothly, with the Pride Landers assembling together in peace as a chorus of animals conducted by Zazu, including Twiga, Basi, and Mbuni, sing about Kupatana. Many animals gather, including elephants, giraffes, and crocodiles. Once the chorus finishes singing, Simba thanks them and makes a small speech. Rafiki then acknowledges that it is time for the flowers to blossom, and the Pride Landers watch in awe as the white petals fall slowly to the ground. However, they are soon disrupted by a family of troublesome jackals, led by Reirei, that Kion had let into the Pride Lands.

The celebration continues

The Pride Landers are ordered to stand together, and the Lion Guard drives off the jackals. The celebration is able to continue, and the gathered animals feast on the baobab flowers that have fallen to the ground.

Timon and Pumbaa's Christmas[]

Rafiki explains to his apprentice, Makini, about how Kupatana works, as part of her Royal Mjuzi training.

Trivia[]
