Jackalberries are a type of plant that grow in the Pride Lands.

Appearance[]

Jackalberry leaves are elliptical in shape and green or dark green in color, held together by small brown twigs. The berries themselves are round and pale orange.

Information[]

Jackalberries are a food in the Pride Lands. Some animals, such as Kifaru, eat only the leaves. The dark green leaves taste different to the regular green leaves.

History[]

Ono the Tickbird[]

When Kifaru's tickbird abandons him, the Lion Guard set off to retrieve him whilst Ono takes care of the rhino. During this task, Kifaru asks Ono for some jackalberry leaves. The egret flies halfway across the savannah to bring the leaves to Kifaru, only to be told that he prefers the dark green leaves, not the regular green leaves. When Ono asks him how he was supposed to know this, Kifaru states that Mwenzi knows, leaving Ono feeling angry.
