Slow down and let things happen. New animators put so much pressure on themselves to do well right out of the gate. Work hard but enjoy the process and the fun of being in this industry. You have so many options today, both in Canada and around the world.

Howy Parkins is a director of The Lion Guard and the voice of Mbeya the rhinoceros.


Howy Parkins is an animation director. He has graduated from Sheridan College, where he studied classical animation[1]. When presented with The Lion Guard, he knew it would be daunting, given that fans would be expecting classical animation.

In addition to The Lion Guard, he has worked on The Emperor's New School and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.[2].
