Flying Squirrels are rodents that appear in The Lion Guard universe.
The Japanese giant flying squirrel lives in Japan and China. It inhabits sub-alpine and boreal evergreen forests. It has a web of skin between its legs which it uses to glide between the trees. It has been recorded to glide as far as 160 meters. The tail of the flying squirrel is used for stability during flight. The feed on fruit, nuts and insects, and live in holes in trees.
Yuki's Troop has just settled in a Hot Spring when they hear noises in the trees. Thinking the noises to be large birds, the snow monkeys panic and run away. Ono realizes they are flying squirrels, not birds, and Bunga grabs their leader, Tafu. After calming down the squirrels, Tafu explains his scurry was just trying to welcome the snow monkeys to the spring, and never intended to scare them off. With the situation settled, Tafu's Scurry heads back to the trees.
