Don't listen to her. You're doing a dandy job.

–Chura to Beshte, Beshte and the Hippo Lanes

Chura is a male toad that resides in the Pride Lands.

Chura is a small, swamp-green toad with a dull, light green underbelly. He has a few dark green spots on his back. His eyes are yellow and brown. The tips of his toes are brown-green. His tongue is pink.

Chura is somewhat of a cocky fellow who, much like Mtoto, admires Beshte for his strength. He is not afraid to stand up for Beshte when he feels that someone is trying to downplay his importance in the Pride Lands. But Chura is also not afraid to speak up when something is going wrong. Despite his outspokenness he is also polite, thanking Beshte for the ride.

Chura gets annoyed

When Beshte, the strongest hippo in the Pride Lands and member of the Lion Guard, begins to create the Hippo Lanes, he is joined by Laini, Female Wagtail, Young Aardvark, and Chura. After Young Aardvark compliments him after he bashes through a sturdy rock, Female Weaver admits that she wasn't sure if Beshte would make it. She is reminded by Chura of Beshte's status as the strongest in the Pride Lands. When she still has her doubts, Chura tells Beshte to ignore her, adding that he's doing a dandy job.

"Thanks for the ride, Beshte!"

Shortly after complimenting him, he notices that they're going the wrong way. He hops onto Beshte's snout and reminds him that he was headed the other way, and Beshte obliges. Laini asks if he can drop her off at Ndefu Grove afterwards, and Beshte agrees. She double checks that he's okay with it, and Chura once again confirms that he won't mind since he is the strongest in the Pride Lands. Beshte is humbled by his words, and starts to explain the reason for the Hippo Lanes, with Chura joining in from time to time. At the end, Beshte lowers his head and allows Chura to disembark. He thanks Beshte for the ride before hopping away.
