Butterflies are insects that appear in The Lion Guard universe. They live in the Pride Lands, Outlands, Forest and the Tree of Life.

Butterflies come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes.

Butterflies are pretty much the same as their real-life counterparts.


In the Real World 

Butterflies undergo a metamorphosis in order to reach adulthood. They first start out as caterpillars, and then wrapping themselves into cocoons, before turning into winged adults. They feed on nectars of flowers.

Butterflies have made frequent appearances in the show.

A butterfly lands on Janja's nose in the Outlands. He doesn't notice it until

his clan laughs hysterically at him. He then attempts to eat it, only resulting in more laughter from his fellow hyenas.

Bunga the Wise

After the first big flood, a butterfly is stuck in a puddle. Kion helps it out of the water. As a thank-you, it lands on his nose before flying away.

Butterflies can be seen flying around Fuli during My Own Way.

Beshte helps Shujaa learn how to control his strength. They see a butterfly stuck between rocks. Shujaa decides to lift the rock in order to free it. However, the rock comes crashing down.

Fire from the Sky

Butterflies can be seen at the beginning of the episode before the vultures drop fire near Twiga's Herd.
