Battle of Pride Rock is an event in which Simba reclaims the Pride Lands from his uncle Scar and takes his place as King.

Prior to The Lion Guard[]

After Scar had overthrown his older brother Mufasa and seized the Pride Lands, Simba had ran away in disbelief, guilt, and fear. Scar’s abusive rule over the Pride Lands lead to its ruin, prompting an older Nala to head to the jungle where she found Simba. Through some convincing, Simba had returned to the Pride Lands to challenge Scar’s leadership. With the help of his pride, as well as Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, and Zazu, Simba had been able to intercept the hyenas and reach Scar, where he fought and defeated him in a final battle amongst a burning Pride Rock.

In the aftermath of the battle, Scar’s followers were forced out of the Kingdom and Simba had been able to restore the Pride Lands and help the animals return home. Since then, Simba’s victory over Scar has been visually archived in Rafiki’s paintings and an annual celebration had been held to commemorate over Simba’s return.

When Kion expresses his doubts over Makuu and Pua’s impending conflict, Nala reminds her son that Simba’s leadership over the Pride Lands was earned from fighting Scar for the position.

The Scorpion's Sting[]

On the day of the Kumbuka celebration, the

Lion Guard and Makini look at paintings that depict the battle, including Timon and Pumbaa distracting the hyenas, as well as Simba fighting Scar. Meanwhile, in the Outlands’ volcano Scar’s resurrected spirit ploys to exact his revenge on Simba and the Pride Landers on the anniversary of his death.

During the song Wisdom on the Walls Makini mentions when Simba battled Scar and shows Kion a painting.
