I'm back with more Uncomfortable lion guard moments.
Really Disney? They are children!
I know what your thinking, it's a pretty dark theory that is clearly not true but let's think about it.
In season3 of TLG(my favorite season),the guard are traveling to the tree of life to get Kion healed from the mark of evil and so Ono can get his sight back. When they do get there kionxrani happens and the show ends with them becaming king and queen of the tree of life. But what if you like at it this way.
In battle for the pridelands the lion guard does defeat scar but gets killed in the process. Their journey to the tree of life was actually their journey through the after life trying to make it to heaven. Anga and Makini are actually meant to be thier guides kinda like angels while Muchucu and his gang is the devil trying to claim there souls. The stones with the painting (I forgot what they are called) are different steps to reach heaven. Kion's scar is a reminder of their life on earth. Rani and the night pride are the souls that are already dead and that guards the tree of life or heaven in this case. Kion and Rani fall in love with each another in and became the king and queen of the afterlife.
Dark theory for a kids show put is pretty interesting when you think about it. What do you guys think.
If the lion guard some how got a hold of a phone(don't know how but they do) and played among us,who would suck at it the most? Random idea but it's fun when you think about it.
Meet Kuruka (Ono)
Name:Kuruka meaning to fly
Gender:Male
Age:13
Abilities: Can fly (what else are the Ono wings for) and is the big brains of the group.
Inspection:Ono
Kuruka is humanized Ono I guess.
Any ideas and headcanons?
What songs do you guys think could fit each member of the guard.
I think:
Kion-Your gonna hear me roar and Fight song.
Fuli-Confident
Bunga-Living on the wild side
Beshte-I actually don't know.
Ono-I also don't know.
Anga-Just like fire
The villains-Any song from Decedents like Rotton to the core.
What do you guys think?
Hey, TLG Fans!
Since I have commented on the "Inaccuracies of the Lion Guard" a few weeks ago and what it got wrong about animals in the circle of life. I thought I would make sequel (if you want to call it that).
For every animal fact The Lion Guard creators had either got wrong or misrepresented, there's a few aspects they got right. If you think of any I have missed please comment it.
Fuli the Introvert
So, right off the bat, in the episode Fuli's New Family, the rest of the Lion Guard believe that Fuli spends too much time on her own and think they haven't been good friends to her. Not realising, however, that she enjoys being alone a lot of time and will hang out with them, on her terms.
At the beginning of the episode, Fuli mentions that girl cheetahs hunt alone. This is actually true to life. In real life, mother cheetahs stay with their cubs for about 18months and then after that, female cheetah cubs go off on their own to live independently.
Female cheetahs are solitary animals and do almost everything on their own. They have almost no interaction with other cheetahs, except for mothers raising their cubs and also interacting with male cheetahs for breeding. Otherwise, they spend most of their living and hunting alone.
Symbiotic relationships
For those of you who don't know, symbiotic relationships are when two organisms live in close proximity and have a mutual relationship. For example, in The Lion Guard, some of the animals of the Pride Lands have a mutual friendship with another relationship, but it's not actually a friendship between them.
In The Rise of Makuu, the hippos are shown to have a symbiotic relationship with the fish in Big Springs. The fish, as we are told, clean the dirt and bacteria off the hippos' bodies, and in return, get to eat. In "Ono the Tickbird", in spite of my personal dislike of this episode (for reasons), they do show that tickbirds and rhinos have a mutual relationship. Tickbirds eat the ticks that often appear on the backs of rhinos. It keeps the rhinos from getting infected and the tickbirds get something to eat at the same time.
Rhinos
In that same episode, Kifaru says that he has poor vision, like all rhinos in the show and in real life. Rhinos can't see very well over long distances and they rely scent trails to navigate their surroundings.
Kifaru is clearly a white rhinoceros, while Mbeya is a black rhinoceros. So, the creators decided to show they were different by making Kifaru white, and Mbeya a dark grey colour.
Also, Kifaru correctly has a noticeable hump on his back and distinctive large lip, that white rhinos are known to have in real life. In contrast, Mbeya, like all black rhinos, has a pointed upper lip and no comparable hump on his back.
Here is a White Rhino with a noticeable hump on his back.
Zebra Stripes
In "Rescue in the Outlands", in the middle of the Dry Season, the Lion Guard and the Pride Lands' animals end up being swarmed by tsetse flies, except for the zebras. Ono explains that tsetse flies don't like zebra stripes, but, he doesn't understand the reason why.
In real life, scientists have actually concluded that zebra stripes actually have the ability to repel flies to keep from biting the zebras. Many people believe that zebras evolved their stripes for this exact purpose.
In "The Zebra Mastermind", after Goi-goi left the scene, Thurston notes that his stripes only make him camouflaged when he with his herd. However, scientists recently started to have doubts about whether zebra stripes confuse predators. It was believed that zebra stripes give off the illusion that there's only one animal, but, now, recent studies have doubt upon this theory.
Elephants
In the episode, "Can't Wait To Be Queen", Simba and Nala go to an elephant funeral in Kilio Valley. During the scene, the elephants are shown paying tribute to Aminifu and covering his body with leaves and branches.
Truth in television, when a member of their herd dies, elephants will ceremoniously collect twigs and leaves to bury their dead and, crowd around the fallen elephant to pay tribute.
In the original movie, young Simba and Nala visit the Elephant Graveyard. In real life, an elderly or sickly elephant who is aware they are at death's door, will go to a designated spot to die in peace. The other elephants will visit that spot to pay tribute to their loved ones.
In "The Savannah Summit", Mtoto, an elephant calf, is using infrasound to listen to voices at a very low frequency. In real life, as pointed out in the episode, elephants have the ability to hear using infrasound, and it makes them hear sounds of extremely low frequency, which is one of their methods of communication as well.
In "The Ukumbusho Tradition", Ma Tembo and her herd are afraid of bees and go on a rampage because of it. Just like in real life, the elephants run at the very sound of the bees. It is true that elephants are afraid of bees because the latter can sting sensitive parts of their body, like their trunks, as Ma Tembo had pointed out at the end.
In "The Kilio Valley Fire", when the elephants (briefly) move in with the giraffes, they are shown tearing off branches from the trees and then stripping them of all their leaves. As is pointed out by Zito, this is one of the ways elephants eat in real life.
Beshte and the Hippo Lanes
The center-point for this episode is that Beshte and Basi need to make the hippo lanes so the animals of the Pride Lands can cross the floodplains to access food and water. And in real life, hippos are known as ecological engineers, and when they plough through submerged wetland areas helps water and nutrients to travel around so that other animals can have access to it as well.
Beshte Getting Sunburn
Beshte, like all hippos in real life, does not do well in the hot sun without any mud or water around to cool him. In "Swept Away", he spends most of the episode trying to get out of the sun. This is because hippos are highly sensitive to sun and their skin can quickly burn in the blazing sun of the African Savannah.
The plot of the episode is all about the Lion Guard trying to get Beshte and bring him back to the Pride Lands before he can burn to death. Scar says that, just like real life, hippos become weak and tired if they get too hot.
And at the end of the episode, low and behold, Beshte, jumps into a mud puddle to cool off in. In real life, various animals that just have skin on them and no hair, like hippos, pigs, rhinos, etc., avoid sunburn using mud or water.
In "Journey of Memories", Beshte gets sunburn again from walking in the desert for too long. In real life, hippos spend most of their time either wallowing in water or mud to regulate their body temperature and prevent them from getting sunburn. Mud is like "sunscreen" for hippos.
Leopards
I know, I spoke last time about how much the creators got wrong about leopards in real life. But, I will admit that they have a few facts correct.
First of all, in "The Trouble with Galagos", we meet Badili and Mapigano, two rival male leopards. The center-point of this episode is that Mapigano is challenging Badili for his turf and Badili must take it back. In real life, even though leopards are reclusive, just like cheetahs, male leopards will fight for dominance over territories.
Badili is also shown scratching at the bark of his tree. In real life, this is one of the many methods leopards have of marking their territory to ward off rival leopards, in addition to leaving their scent.
Mackucha, at least in the earlier episodes, is portrayed like a normal leopard because he is reclusive. In "The Imaginary Okapi" and "The Wisdom of Kongwe", he is a lone hunter, like real leopards. In "The Golden Zebra, at least at first, he is shown to be highly territorial towards the Lion Guard.
In "The Wisdom of Kongwe", he is shown climbing a tree at one point. As a leopard, he is an excellent climber. Of all big cats, leopards are the most arboreal, which means they have long tails that allow them to balance on narrow branches.
As for snow leopards, they are equally solitary and like to live and hunt independently, just like Chuluun, in "Ghost of the Mountain". They use their bright white coat to hide in the snowy mountains to stalk their prey, just like Chuluun. Their coats make them almost invisible, just like in the show. And one of the many things that they hunt are Red Pandas.
Pangolins sprays when threatened
In "The Lost Gorillas", when Hafifu and Majinuni are squeezing the pangolins in the Pride Lands, the pangolins are spraying noxious gas. As noted by Ono, pangolins only spray when they're threatened, which is true, as irl they spray scent glands as a defense mechanism, similar to skunks.
Gorillas
Speaking of gorillas, Hafifu, Majinuni and their father, King Sokwe, are portrayed as being friendly animals. In real life, despite the fact they look intimidating, gorillas are gentle giants, according to zoologists. They will only become aggressive when threatened.
In "Beshte and the Beast", we meet Shujaa, an adult male gorilla, who is also shown to be super friendly, but, then very aggressive towards members of Scar's Army. In that episode, Ono correctly points that adult gorillas can lift about 10 times their body weight, which couldn't be more true.
Crocodiles
The show correctly uses the term "Float" to refer to a group of crocodiles.
Just like in the show, crocodiles are social reptiles who live and travel in groups led by a dominant male. If a member of the float tries to challenge, trouble ensues, like when Kiburi challenged Makuu's leadership in the episode, "Let Sleeping Crocs Lie".
At the start of the Dry Season, Makuu's float (initially) choosing to go into hibernation stems from the fact that crocodiles spend the hottest and driest months of the years, when there's less water around, burrowing underground.
Nile crocodiles are highly aggressive, just like Makuu and Kiburi, and will attack or even kill other crocodiles. In "The Little Guy", Kiburi trying to kill Makuu is a reference to how Nile crocodiles will attack each other during territorial disputes.
The Portrayal of Aardwolves
In The Lion Guard and in real life, aardwolves are small, hyena-like creatures. Just like Simba said, the are very shy and keep to themselves. They are nocturnal in real life as well as in the show.
Remember how Reirei and Goi-goi were threatening to eat them, well, it turns out jackals are predators of aardwolves in real life, and will eat their cubs. Aardwolves are even smaller then jackals, ranging from 16 to 20 inches in height, and 15 to 22lbs in weight. And they're not good at fighting.
Just like the Pride Lands' aardwolves, aardwolves are entirely insectivores and primarily feast on termites with their long, sticky tongues. Aardwolves tend to roam around and live in abandoned dens that used to belong to other animals, just like in the Pride Lands, they occupy empty aardvark dens.
In the show the Lion Guard kicked the aardwolves out accidentally because they mistook for the more fearsome hyenas. Notice how the aardwolves are completely unaware that they look a lot like hyenas. Ironic, because, aardwolves are actually relatives of spotted hyenas. They are one of the four subspecies of the Hyaenidae family.
Varya and her cubs
Like in real life, Varya and her cubs are among the biggest cats around. Varya, like real tigresses, is a fearsome fighter as she tries to fight two leopards, a binturong and a komodo dragon at the same time. She also, like in real life, is highly protective of her cubs. Like most cats, female tigers work hard to keep their cubs safe from danger.
Also in "Long Live the Queen", Varya is shown going to the Tree of Life, with just herself and her cubs around. She appears to be raising them on her own, like real tigresses. In real life, tigers are solitary. Male tigers are only needed to reproduce, but, then the females do all the raising of the cubs.
Also, Varya and her cubs are Siberian Tigers and Rani takes them to a snowy part of the Tree of Life, where Siberian tigers would be adapted to living.
Varya's cubs explore their surroundings at the Tree of Life and she has to look for them at one point. In real life, at a few months, tiger cubs will explore their surroundings.
Bunga being immune to things
In Can't Wait to be Queen, Bunga is the only member of the Lion Guard, who's immune to bee stings. In real life, honey badgers can raid beehives without being stung and often raid them to eat the larvae.
In Fuli's New Family, Bunga is shown to be immune to snake like honey badgers in real life (even though a honey badger his age would certainly not be immune, but I'm going to let it slide). He's also shown to be unaffected by porcupine quills, when it would hurt other animals. But, because honey badgers have really thick skin and fur, they are resistant to porcupine quills, as was noted by Kion.
In The Bite of Kenge, while everyone else on the Guard is paralysed by Kenge's venom, Bunga learns that he's immune to monitor lizard venom and is able to go after Kenge. In Dragon Island, as a teenager (which is a more accurate age), Bunga is fully aware he's immune to venom from a komodo dragon, like all honey badgers.
As you all know, Bunga hates Ushari more than anyone else on the Guard, this is because in real life, honey badgers will regularly fight off snakes and even sometimes, kill and eat them. This explains why they've evolved to become resistant to snake venom. So, therefore, Ushari hates Bunga more than anything, but, knows that Bunga is immune to toxins.
Also, Bunga is shown to be able to eat a variety of foods without getting sick. This is because, as a honey badger, he does not have a set diet and would gladly whatever is lying around, including, insects, grubs, roots, vegetation, carrion, berries, rotten fruits and more.
Also, honey badgers are known for their absolute fearlessness about everything, just like Bunga.
Animal Terminology
This series correctly uses the right terminology to refer to groups of animals in the circle of life, for example a "pride of lions", to refer to Simba's Pride. "Janja's clan" or "Jasiri's clan" to refer to a group of hyenas, "a pack of jackals" to refer to Reirei and her family, a "hippo pod" to refer to Basi's pod, "Makuu's float" refers to a float of crocodiles", "a committee" refers to Mzingo's vultures and many more.
Not Hawk Territory
In Ono and the Egg, the Lion Guard need to get a harrier hawk out of the Pride Lands because she shouldn't even be there in the first place.
As Kion correctly notes in this episode, the Pride Lands isn't hawk territory, so therefore, she can't hunt there. The Pride Lands is implied to take place somewhere in Southern African, whereas, harrier hawks tend to live most commonly in North America, mostly found widespread across Alaska and Canada. But, they can be found across Central and South America, but, not the African content.
Conclusion
So, these are the animal facts I'm doing at the moment. I'll come back to this if I actually of anymore. Please let me know animal facts that you were aware of that the show's creators had got right.
And also, if anyone knows whether or not Ono being the (former) Keenest of Sight is accurate, please let me know. Because in some sources I found, it said that egrets had very keen vision, but in other sources, it said they have weak vision compared to other birds.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed reading this.
Thank you.
So, fellow TLG fans, do you all remember the flashback scene in from Season 3's The Lake of Reflection? Younger Kion and his friends (save Ono) recall the first time they met and fought off Janja, Cheezi and Chungu to save an egg, which turned out to be Ono, moments before he hatches.
So, you know what I found weird? The fact that Janja, Cheezi and Chungu are supposedly roughly the same age as Kion and his friends. Like, why is that? I always thought we were led to believe Janja's clan were in their mid-to-late teens, I say maybe 15 to 18 years old, while the Lion Guard were 10 or 11 year old children. For a number of reasons:
Firstly, Janja's clan look and act like they are teenagers and/or close to adulthood (I say around 16 to 18, in human years), while the Lion Guard are children by design and by personality (around 9 to 12 years old, roughly for the first two seasons). So, that is significantly younger than Janja's clan. Also, Janja and his clan are voiced by full-blown adults. In the first season, Kion's voice is much more high-pitched and childlike, in contrast, to Janja, who has a deep, more low-pitched voiced.
Secondly, Janja's clan live independently in Outlands and don't rely on their parents/guardians to look after them. The Lion Guard (save Fuli) are tasked with protecting the Pride Lands, but, they are still children themselves who require adult supervision. Plus, if Janja's clan were meant to be children this whole time why would they be living on their own. None of them sound like their children.
Lastly, in literally the first episode of the series, Return of the Roar, moments before Kion uses the Roar to send them back to the Outlands, Janja teases Kion and his friends because they are children. Earlier in the episode, Janja berates Cheezi and Chungu for "being scared by the Roar of a lion cub". Why would he have the liberty to say that if he is roughly the same age as Kion? Plus, there are other times in the series where he called Kion "Lion Cub" or "Cub", the equivalent of saying such insults like "Kid" or "Pipsqueak". Why would he call Kion those names if he is also a cub, himself?
Janja is also shown to be bigger and stronger than Jasiri, a female hyena. Female hyenas would normally be towering over male ones, but she is comparable in size to Kion and Kiara, so that means she's a juvenile hyena and Janja is a few years older than her.
I just want to point how young the Lion Guard are shown to be in the flashback.
They are no more than 2 or 3 years old, in human years, at least.
I bring this up because how many 2 year olds do you know that actually remember obscure details, like names, appearances? Kids don't tend to pick up on details until they at least of school going age of 4 or 5 years old.
So, how can we be sure it was Janja, Cheezi and Chungu in the flashback? They could've been some other random hyenas that the Lion Guard wouldn't remember that well.
Maybe they were just recalling it to the best of their ability to help Kion get his confidence back, and were just confused about the identity of the hyenas because it was so long ago. I don't know, I just have a hard time believing Janja's clan are the same age as the Guard.
If this is the Guard's flashback then they could just be thinking of Janja's clan because by the time they had met them in the show, they were old enough to have memories, and their memory from when they were little kids could be a little foggy. What do you guys think?
Plus, the writers did not need to mention the name of the hyenas.
Who's to say these cubs are Janja, Cheezi and Chungu? You expect me to believe they were that little?
Conclusion:
So, those are reasons for why I don't think Janja and his clan would be children, or even similar in age to the Lion Guard and Jasiri.
It's very possible that the Lion Guard just merged Janja, Cheezi and Chungu into the flashback because they don't remember the old hyenas, eh?
So, what do you guys think. Agree or disagree and explain, please? An age inconsistency on the writer's part? Please tell me what you think.
Thank you.
So guys I've had to make a really tough decision based on my time here so guys it goes without saying that I have loved watching the lion guard when it first debuted back in 2015 and I've been in the Fandom since 2019 but unfortunately I have sadly lost a little bit of interest in this show and I've been watching another kids show called bluey I started watching that in the beginning of 2023 so yeah but I still wanting to like tlg for awhile before writing this post so yeah I will now no longer be active on this Fandom wiki but maybe in the far future I'll come back but I don't know though I hope I'm not upsetting true lion guard fans I will still remember this show forever and ever TILL THE PRIDELANDS END "LION GUARD DEFEND" "Even on the darkest day there's hope" I will hopefully see you all in the far future but until then "keep roaring on"
Here's my headcanons. Of all the ones I can think of.
Kion - Police Officer. I kind get the vibe that that would be his dream job. His whole job is about enforcing the law.
Bunga - Firefighter/Stuntman. One or the other, probably his dream job to pursue.
Fuli - Professional athlete, most likely cross country runner or champion baseball player. She's a true athlete.
Ono - Zoologist/Wildlife Biologist and/or journalist. Due to his animal know-how and interest on the subject.
Anga - Newscaster? Idk, because she sees everything, I guess?
Makini - Art teacher at a university, because she seems to be fascinated by the paintings of the past.
Simba - Probably the CEO of a very respectable company worldwide. Also, US President.
Nala - Probably the Co-director of Simba's company. Also, first lady of the US.
Zazu - Probably a Board Member for the Company/Family Butler.
Timon & Pumbaa - Owners of some hang out place, like a bowling alley, a restaurant (the Chuck-E Cheese kind of one), a smoothie place, etc.
Rafiki - High School counsellor and/or pyschologist.
Nirmala - High School Nurse. Pretty self-explanatory since she is a healer.
Kiara - Social media star, business woman (not really what it would be).
Kovu - Part-time security guard. Businessman alongside Kiara.
Vitani - Martial arts instructor, seems the most like her because she's fierce.
Tiifu - Social media star, owner of beauty pageant and cosmetics store. She's always trying to help Kiara look her best.
Zuri - Social media star, fashion journalist, model. I think she'd do something related to fashion when she grows up.
Scar - King of the Mafia World. For obvious reasons.
Mufasa - When he was alive. Probably businessman just like Simba who Scar hates.
Jasiri - Also martial arts instructor, and I get major tattoo artist vibes from her.
Rani - A police officer, just like Kion. They both always try to keep things in order.
Dhahabu - Actress, social media star, model, owner of a cosmetics story. Basically she reminds me of the Kardashian Family.
And these are the characters I decided to do. Let me what you think and your owner personal headcanons, whether you agree or disagree.
Hello fellow TLG and TLK fans, I'm bringing another query about The Lion Guard that just came to me on the spot when I was re-watching old episodes. Where on earth is Beshte's mother throughout the series? Why is she just like not brought up throughout the duration of the series? Why doesn't appear alongside Basi on occasion? You would think if her mate is present in a few episodes that we would get to see or hear about her at least once? I mean, Basi's pod are shown on a few occasions, but we never see a potential mother figure for Beshte on any occasion. We never hear of Beshte's mom in danger in any episode or giving the Lion Guard advice. So, where is she? Beshte has a great relationship with his dad (it's one of the things I love about him and Kion so much), but we have no idea what his relationship is like with his mom. Is Mom just not a member of the pod for some reason? Are hippos in the real world patriarchal or something (a reverse hyena principle)?
Think of this as just a part 2 to my query "Where are Bunga and Fuli's parents at?" But, this is a question I just thought of off the cuff, "Where is Beshte's Mom at?" She's never seen nor heard of. Did she die? Is she a member of another pod? Do male hippos care for the young? I'm really curious what you guys think the answer is because we Kion has great relationship with both his parents, a trait which he shares with his friend Beshte. Fuli and Bunga are orphans. Ono lives with his flock (except in Ono and the Egg, which is a whole other can of worms). And if Beshte's mother lives in the Pride Lands you would think we would see her in Battle for the Pride Lands. Like, you'd think she would make a cameo saying goodbye to the Lion Guard at the end. I don't really know where she is? But, I don't know a thing about hippo parentage.
I want to hear your personal opinions on this.
I would love to you guys' thoughts on this matter. All opinions are welcome.
Thank you.
Okay, so recently I was re-watching some older episodes of The Lion Guard and I noticed about Season 2, Episode 6, "Let Sleeping Crocs Lie", where the Lion Guard accidentally wake up Makuu's Float from their hibernation at the start of the Dry Season. And now Makuu's Float deal with harsh conditions now that they can't back to their deep sleep.
So, the only reason they decide suffer through the Dry Season is because of Makuu's moral alignment and willingness to work with the Lion Guard, as well as the fact Simba found them a watering hole with just enough water and fish to get them through the Season. Makuu is understandably upset with the Guard for waking his Float up a few months too early, but his resentment towards them was so non-existent at this point that he works with them to find a new water supply and even reprimands Kiburi for trying attack Ono, and fighting Kion in one scene.
But my question for all of you TLG fans is, what if this were to happen in Season 1, while Makuu was still evil. Between Makuu's lack of moral alignment and his unwillingness to respect the circle of life, Simba's lack of faith in his son's Guard and Kion's inexperience at this point, I can imagine this episode would've been a complete trainwreck for the Lion Guard to sort out. And I mean Kion was never going to let Ono be the crocs' dinner no matter what happened. But, in Season 1, Makuu would've believed everyone was beneath him and he could do whatever he wanted. So, what do you think would've happened if this had occurred in Season 1. Would Kion have just simply given Makuu another gentle reminder of who's in charge? Would Makuu and his Float be the ones that are banished to the Outlands for the foreseeable future? Let me know your thoughts.
And actually on an off topic, how come in "The Savannah Summit", when Simba invites Makuu because he's the leader of the crocodiles, Simba is not at all worried about Makuu's presence the same way that Kion is? You'd think that because Simba knows very well that Makuu had been nothing but trouble for the Pride Lands throughout Season 1. He knows that Makuu never cared about rules up to that point and he attacked his mate, Nala, Queen of the Pride Lands in "Never Roar Again" and tried to take out his friend, Basi (I'm going to assume they're friends) in "Beshte and the Hippo Lanes". Wouldn't Simba be more wary about inviting Makuu to the Savannah Summit. I know kind of has to because Makuu does have the right to be there, but why is brushing off all of Kion's worries about Makuu being with all the other leaders? That would be great to know too.
You all remember this flashback scene of a much younger Lion Guard (save Ono) fighting a much younger Janja, Cheezi and Chungu, from The Lake of Reflection, don't you?
Well, what if suggested that this scene was taking place simultaneously to the scene in TLK 2 where Kiara and Kovu met for the very first time? Think about it, the canonical timeline of The Lion King fits up with this being what Kion and his friends were doing at the time. Ono, who is the youngest member of the Lion Guard, was just a newborn at this point.
I've seen a lot of people say that Kion wasn't born at this point in the timeline. But, frankly I disagree because it doesn't fit up for Kion and his friends to be non-existent at that point. If we look at how real lions operate in the wild, lionesses give birth to cubs after a 4 month long gestation. So, that means Nala would've had to have been pregnant for 4 months. Given that Kion and Kiara are very close in age and size, it's more likely that they are twins with Kiara being slightly older.
Now with that out of the way let's get into the discussion. At the beginning of TLK 2, Kiara is a little lioness cub of about 2 or 3 months probably, (similar to her father in TLK 1). Kion looks roughly that age in TLOR flashback. Kovu and Vitani are probably slightly older, around 4 or 5 months old. I mean, the other possibility is that it takes place during that time Kion and Bunga went into to Pua's watering hole, from "The Morning Report".
In "Lions of the Outlands", Kovu mentions about the time he saw Kiara. Which he said was "a while ago". Since the Lion Guard, Seasons 1 & 2 take place in between the aforementioned flashback scene and Kiara's first hunt as a teenager, it's very possible it's been 6 or 7 months since he met Kiara. Which seems about the right given how much older Kion and Kiara look and act in The Lion Guard. Kion and Kiara are probably 8 or 9months old at that point, and Kovu and Vitani are probably around 10 or 11months.
Let me know your thoughts on this matter in the comments below. I'm working on doing a complete Lion King Chronological timeline.

Okay, so I've re-watching some early episodes of The Lion Guard recently and I just got to thinking about the whereabouts of Fuli and Bunga's parents. Like, they're only kids at the end of the day and so surely they need a guardian figure.
Kion is a lion cub and he lives with his family in Pride Rocky. Beshte lives with his dad, Basi (and I'm assuming his mother is there too, but that's a whole other can of worms) in Big Springs. Ono lives with the other egrets, at least one of whom is presumably his parental figure.
I would question by Anga lives on her own, but she appears to be a few years older than The Lion Guard (as seen in "The Lake of Reflection"), so maybe she's old enough to live on her own.
I realise Bunga lives with his guardians, Timon and Pumbaa, but it doesn't change the fact that he says he never met his real parents. Did his real parents die? Did they get captured? Did they abandon him? And Fuli, on the other hand just lives on her own and does want she wants in the Pride Lands with no reference to her parents. If we see the occasional episode where the Lion Guard are shown as babies, you would her parents would be mentioned. But, Zazu seemed to be responsible for her and Kion. Why is that?
I'm open to opinions on this matter.
So, yes, this is a Harry Potter post. I love The Lion Guard and I love Harry Potter, so I thought why don't I create a post to sort the TLG/TLK characters into Hogwarts Houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin?

Not gonna lie, I've always liked Ono, but I've gained an even more appreciation for his character in Season 3.
Just by "The Battle for the Pridelands", he made 2 sacrifices: his vision along with his position of the Keenest of Sight for Bunga.
And despite this, he was always loyal to the Guard even when his vision wasn't fully recovered.
I'm definitely certain that it was pretty hard for him adjust to it after having the role for years.
From the end of the battle for the Pridelands to when he was healed at the Tree of Life, he had his fair share of character growth by realizing that his vision doesn't define his purpose and usefulness.
Yes, in my opinion TLG S3 had a lot of flaws, but if I had to appreciate at least one thing about, it would be Ono's arc, as I was intrigued. Tbh, I theorized that there trip was primarily for Ono, and although I was somewhat wrong, his journey to the Tree of Life was my favorite!
- Coming from a Bunga fan who also has a soft spot for Beshte & Ono :)
This was a pipeline that I was very interested in, but in a speculative, may-or-may-not-be-incorrect-on fanboy type way rather than a "this is a massive plot-hole" type way. Back when TLG was still airing, I remember seeing a lot of videos, fanart, fanfics, and comments about how the Lion Guard may end and how their absence would be explained. ̶N̶i̶n̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶s̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶e̶n̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶e̶r̶p̶r̶e̶t̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶l̶o̶t̶ ̶b̶e̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶a̶c̶t̶u̶a̶l̶ ̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶e̶r̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶i̶n̶ ̶f̶u̶n̶n̶y̶ ̶i̶m̶o̶
Even though we obviously know the real reason behind their absence (both in and out of universe), just for fun, what were your outdated ideas behind the Lion Guard's absence from LK 2, and how close were they to the canon explanation?
My outdated interpretation was that the Lion Guard would disband after the fight with Scar. Let’s say they do manage to defeat him, but they took a high amount of damage/loss/were traumatized and felt disillusioned in continuing to be the Lion Guard, leading to a 3rd-act breakup where everyone splits up and leads their own lives (Kion leaving to start his own pride with Rani — who I originally thought would have a role in the Scar battle — Bunga either dying in a heroic sacrifice to save his friends or leaving to find his own adventures, Fuli being one of the attendees at Kovu’s ambush and him and Kiara’s wedding, Makini being sent on a brief diplomatic mission, and Ono and Anga just chilling): I imagined that after the Lion King 2, there’d be this big lovey-doves reunion amongst the now grown-up Lion Guard + them making peace with the ex-Outsiders and after a series of cliche last-minute trials and tribulations, the group is once again ready to defend the Circle of Life as a new generation in the Pride Lands begins (in this outdated fan-canon, the Guard are fully grown when they depart and return to the Pride Lands, Kion and Rani have become parents during Kion’s temporary absence and bring their cub into the Pride Lands, and Makini became Kiara’s Royal Mjuzi, I remember this cancelled fic of mine that would’ve had these elements in). I also crackshipped Kion x Vitani as a fallback option in case he and Rani didn’t work out but I’m not mad that they didn’t get together (in fact, I’m pretty thrilled they didn’t).
Overall, very different from how the canon explanation went, though I was right that the Scar battle would have something to do with why they’re not there and I was also correct in that Kion might get with Rani (though it was different than I expected).
